Furnace Charging Chute Case Study

Technical situation:

As part of an improvement to the furnace charging process, designed to eliminate the need to manually charge a furnace with magnesium ingots, the client asked Abbfab Services to fabricate a charging chute to their design.

Our solution:

Manufactured from carbon steel plate, hot dipped galvanised after fabrication, the charge chute also included a 75mm diameter machined shaft to allow the chute to pivot, which Abbfab Services had machined by one of their sub-contractors.After manufacture of the chute in our workshops, the chute was installed on-site by one of our site installation teams.
